Hi everybody! This is Joy, the current web editor for the Sophian. There will be a real attempt (finally) to fully utilize all Sophian social media including Twitter, Facebook and of course here on Tumblr. The Sophian is excited too! We’re interviewing Jane Lynch when she comes to campus…look for the first part of our interview in the Commencement issue on May 17 and the second part to be posted on our website May 20.
SSFFS hosted ConBust, Smith’s annual sci-fi and fantasy convention, last weekend. Besides panels on every imaginable topic, from dragons to genre portrayal of women to HP Lovecraft, the con also includes interactive events like boffing (pictured above, photos by Helen Zhang ‘15). Boffing, if it’s not clear from the photos, is mock fighting with padded foam weapons. Who says geeks aren’t athletic?
